Complete Numerical MATTE Set - 82 Cards. Card #s 1 a+b - 41 a+b. These are the original - 1985 Topps - U.

This is a very consistent set regarding all possible variations.. All cards are Matte back. The matte card stock is thinner than the glossies, making them harder to keep throughout the years in nice, mint condition. For numbers 5, 8, and 29 (the six cards that were each produced with two different variation backs) the three "a" cards have the certificates and the three "b" cards have the checklists (this set has all possible artwork). All cards are g raded by Professional Sports Authenticator.

The lowest grade is a 5 (EXCELLENT), the highest is a 10 (GEM MINT). Most are 9's (MINT), 9oc's (MINT off-center) and 8's (NEAR MINT-MINT). Some of the 9oc's would be 8's if they showed more wear since centering is stricter for the 9's.

Only three cards are below a 7 and only eight cards (including those three) are below an 8. The average grade is 8.18 if counting the 9 qualifiers as 8's. Counting them as 9's the average is 8.51. The title shows the average as if they were an 8.5. There are no half grades and no qualifiers below a 9.
